I tend to write a few lines about what each painting means to me, which is something I like doing and I hope it will give the beholder another layer, another aspect of me and my art. Perhaps it stirs something within you too.
From nothing to everything. This painting saw the light of day on the 11th of November, when I, quite spontaneously, had a super idea that I had to try straight away. Typical of me. I rolled out the canvas and it literally covered the whole table. I then squeezed some turquoise and blue colours onto the surface, picked out the biggest paintbrush in my collection and let my hand dance across the canvas. A glorious sensation!
After this, the process sadly transformed into a feeling of hopelessness and utter catastrophe, which remained with me for quite some time, until I suddenly spotted the trees. I am terribly fond of pink cherry trees, and to me, this piece feels like a misty morning, where the energy is swirling all around us and down in the soil, while the trees are calmly standing there radiating love. A metaphor for life, perhaps, where it could be stormy on the inside and seemingly tranquil on the surface….
