I tend to write a few lines about what each painting means to me, which is something I like doing and I hope it will give the beholder another layer, another aspect of me and my art. Perhaps it stirs something within you too.
The soul sister trio, three unique women . The palette used in this painting emerged from a large commission piece in similar colours. I would never have chosen those particular colours if the customer hadn’t said: “We want to order a painting that is 200x150cm, but not in the colours you normally use. We prefer sober shades of grey, white, some beige and ochre too.
So that was that; I developed a taste of these colours, which is why I just had to paint another piece using them. The image is all about genuine friendship; heartfelt, tender, caring and beautiful. Love is ever-present, unstated and true. You need no words for this sort of love, you can just feel it and it is always there regardless of the weather, happiness, sorrow, heartache, sunshine or bliss. Always and forever! True, close friends don’t grow on trees and I am eternally grateful for mine.
